The icy water chilled Jack's bones. He could feel the urge to breath increasing as he began to sink further towards the bottom the frozen lake. He was weak with exhaustion and had no power to move. He was sinking further perfectly still, and he thought now he was going to die. Suddenly through the moonlight, the ice crashed, and swirls of glowing golden hair circled a shadowy figure. As Jack struggled to open his eyes, he saw Rapunzel push her way towards him. As she met his eyes, Jack's world went dark.

I can do better with short stories. Seriously.
